Web Design student work placements

Featured Replies

As some of you may know, I currently am studying Web Design at Staffs university, and I have chosen as part of my degree course to do an industrial placement next year starting June/July/August 2011. The only thing, I'm running out of places to apply to! I have been googling up to my neck and running out of suggestions for placements next year.

I am more of a front end designer, preferring design concepts, html/css/little bit of JavaScript, elementary knowledge of SQL plus, fireworks, flash, expressionweb and forums/blogs/seo/accessibility/usuability to any hardcore programmy stuff (not logically brained). However I do this well and for my design concepts module gained 100%. I also recently attended a lecture by Bruce Lawson on HTML5, which was fab, really interesting stuff.

Sorry if this post makes no sense at all, applied about 40-50 places last few days (everything from google to glaxo to nhs to small companies to charities to partygaming and feel as though I'm running round in circles and would appreciate help from the experts!

Thanks very much for your help and for reading this post!

I go to Keele! If you're on about the one in Stoke on Trent :p

My brother did some work for a pretty good web design company in Stoke, I could find out the name of them if you wanted? Thats assuming it is the Staffs im on about :D

Thanks very much for your offer- that would be fantastic. I'm not at Keele but at Staffordshire Uni (they are quite well known for their computing degrees :) ).
