Wordpress - Multiple Categories/Pages

Featured Replies

Hello, this is probably extremely simple, but I am a complete newbie when it comes to blogging and inserting these blogs to a website. Any help is greatly appreciated!

First of all, I understand how to install Wordpress to my host, etc. However, what I would like to do is have a static homepage that has all the links to my other static pages, but the body of my homepage would update News from my blog that is posted under a certain category. I would repeat this process on another page also, with a different category.

As far as I can tell, this would mean uploading the blog to a subfolder (that I would like to remain private), and then use an RSS feed on the page where I want it to appear? Would this be the way to go?

Thanks you in advance for any help,

Matt
