February 14, 200818 yr Does anybody know how to make a tree menu overlap the content below it, rather than push it out the way when it expands? I need a menu that appears onclick and disapears onclick but also overlaps all content below it. Many thanks.
February 14, 200818 yr The menu needs to be taken out of the document flow. You can do this by using position: absolute; (most likely in conjunction with position: relative; on a parent element to contain it. Not sure what you mean by a 'tree menu' though...
February 14, 200818 yr to do it on Click you need to use JavaScript. I can write some code for you in jQuery if you want...
February 15, 200818 yr Author Thanks for all the help! If you take a look at www.cheaptrade.co.uk you can see the menu i currently have however iv been told in another post the javascript is to complicated to read. I used a menu builder to generate the code. If you could do something for me php_penguin your my new best friend :-). With regards to you thomas im not sure how to position using absolute without the layout of the page going all out of place when the screen resolution is changed. Thanks all!
February 15, 200818 yr The key is to assign position: relative; to a parent element. Then the absolutely positioned element will be relative to that parent instead of the very top left of the document. I can post an example if you like.
