August 10, 201016 yr Hi everyone, just wondering if I can get some advice. I've done a basic course using dreamweaver and fireworks and have put together some (Ok'ish) sites and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm in the unfortunate position of potential redundancy and am seriously considering a career change, could anyone recommend any good courses in the UK? And what direction should I take in relation to qualifications. I thought that if I provided a link to a site that I've built someone would have the ability to assess the level that I should be looking to start out at. So here it is and remember I am a beginner! My site
August 10, 201016 yr I think you should look at a course in CSS as this will improve your websites loads. Hope that helps.
August 10, 201016 yr Author Yes thanks buddy, I know that there are plenty of elements that I need to learn, what I need to find out is where to go to get this. By the way I posted this in the wrong forum so have carried the topic on in new members. Cheers!
August 11, 201016 yr Hi Gunner I was in the same situation as you apart from I had more of a shorter notice in redundancy than you have so I had to learn as much as I could from every programme as quick as I can to get some money in. I'm not too sure if you want to attend courses of if you would like to do home courses? but I would strongly recommend going to w3schools where it will teach you all the precise ways of learning everything you will need to the standards met for webdesigning rather than picking up bad habits along the way from maybe seeing youtube videos etc, and after learning each tutorial you can write out the code on the site and test it working, and the best thing of all you can take exams through them, online which costs around $75 and to my knowledge should be a reconised degree to the employers but you may have to check with other members here on that. Other than that there are dvds from Lynda.com which are good and I have bought during my time of learning, but at least you found this place, where you will always get awesome help from everyone here
