August 6, 201016 yr Hi I was trying to go for just a simple site and just very easy to use but, I think this site design looks a bit messy and lacks a bit of a professional looking feel How do you think the design can be improved? My link Many Thanks and Kind Regards Charles
August 6, 201016 yr Here's a few suggestions: 1. I think the buttons for the navbar are too big and thus need to be made smaller. 2. The header could have more height. 3. I, personally would switch the intro with the newsletter, or move the newsletter somewhere else. I like the buttons that you made for the drop-down menu, but they're a little bit heavy looking for the site. Just not sure... I hope this helps!
August 6, 201016 yr My input: 1, Header needs to be more than just the logo and could be better with more height. 2, The top menu would look better done in the style of the drop down and also not as long as your page in line with the two side menus would be better. 3,You could do with a nice footer to balance out the page and for quick links to products so on. 4, Maybe if you have spare space in the header move the language box to the top right in header or add a search there. 5, Instead of having both sides with adds use a width ways google add system and have it at top under menu would increase content space as 3 lots of different text when scrolling down will trap the eye. Other than that not bad.
August 10, 201016 yr Hows it going Tingo, From a design point of view there arent really any big problems with the design. There is something much bigger concerning me about this website, it's something which I am very disappointed the people who commented before me didnt mention... It isn't very clear what the website is for!! This should slap the user in the face from the second they land on the page, even if it means putting "We make templates and extensions" in ginormous copy on your front page. From a strategic standpoint this is arguably more important than the design its self -- I promise you, re-think your homepage copy and you will sell more templates! But back onto the design, I think swiped who commented above me has a good point about merging those two 'sidebars' into one. The design does feel a bit squished at the moment, and giving the content area some breathing space might help the design move forward. Good luck with it mate! Jase
