Firstly, apologies for this question as it is probably going to have an insanely obvious answer! I am currently designing a website for a friend again and I have a fixed background photo as they requested. I have my banner and navigation bar in place. But on the home page they want a "floating" panel with rounded corners to sit about an inch below the navigation bar. Thus it will still show the background image around all 4 sides.

 

I have tried my best to do this, but have come across a minor problem. When I place the panel and therefore adjust the padding so that the box can be an inch below the navigation bar, I find that it does not always stay in that position once uploaded. They just want text in this panel and of course want it centered as much as possible. But after I upload this, the text can either be too high or too low.

 

Unfortunately, in my frustration and pulling out mounds of hair. I have taken this page down from the website and STUPIDLY deleted the page along with the CSS, so I can not provide any code at the moment. I know how I want it to look, I am just having a hard time getting it that way and trying to explain it, it would seem!!!

 

Any help would be appreciated before I am bald with frustration!!!!

What is not happening that is supposed to? Does this 'floating' bar not position how you need it to? Are you having problems with the rounded corners? What do you mean by 'floating'?
