Joomla: is this the way forward...?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have been asked to design a site which is very similar to (www.harpersbazaar.co.uk) in it's layout. The client has requested several templates which contain the same amount of tables but a slightly different layout in each page. I was looking to create the templates in photoshop and import them into Joomla, however I am a beginner and was wondering how difficult this process might be? ...or is there another way in which to attain this look?

Thanks

Well Joomla is more that capable of producing a website with a similar layout to the one you have linked. I would recommend designing the first template in Photoshop and depending on how different the other templates are you might find that there's no need to design the others.

Joomla has excellent support and it's module/plugin library is huge, so you should be able to do just about anything you want with the CMS.

How difficult? Well guess that depends on how much you already know about HTML/CSS/PHP and how easily you pick up! I managed to get my head around Joomla within a couple of weeks, but if you had the time to give it your full attention then you'll understand it even quicker.
