Hello everybody!

Featured Replies

I just found, and (obviously) joined, this site so thought I should post a quick "Hello"!

I am a Joomla! guy through and through, building almost all my clients sites with Joomla! I just love it.

I used to code the old-fashioned way, but found out that there are better ways to spend your time. I find Joomla! makes my life easier and makes my clients lives easier. You can't say much more than that.

I have tried a number of the others, but just find myself making comparisons to Joomla and finding that they come up short. WP - not powerful enough. Drupal - Life is too short. I know that many of you will disagree with me on these points, so we will just have to agree to disagree.

Looking forward to hopefully becoming part of the regular crowd here....

Welcome mate.

Well, I didn't mean that Joomla! is the easiest way to do things. I would still be bashing out static html using DW if that were the case. But, ultimately it does make my life easier.

When a client wants x,y or z doing (additions, updates, etc). I can log into the backend (from my phone) make the change and get the hell outta there. Job done. Also, if I have have done my job right and set it up in a logical way, they won't even be bothering me because they can manage the site themselves. win=win.

Welcome!

I'm just starting my first exploratory steps into CMS's. I have spent the last few days fiddling around with Wordpress and have integrated it into my website.

I have heard mixed opinions on Joomla, but then, I have heard mixed opinions on pretty much anything that has existed, ever - such the freedom afforded via the internet :-P

You obviously rate it though; how was it when you first started out using it? And was Joomla your first foray into CMS's or had you prior experience?

It was a little baffling at first, but any sufficiently complex software will be. TBH I had more stress getting to grips with Office 2007, now there is a counter-intuitive software!

My first experience was with WP, but I quickly found that I just couldn't do everything I wanted to. I like to have total control!

:flm16:Hi and welcome to the forum. Hope u enjoy it
