Got an example? What brush are you using? Pencil or pen tool?

yeah, more information (including a screenshot) would be needed.

I make the stroke from Blending Options-Stroke and then I choose the stroke I want.

select the layer you want to stroke,

CRTL and click that layer thumbnail

go select>modify>expand by 2 px

on a new layer, fill it with whatever colour you want your stroke to be.

hit CTRL and D to deselect the image.

 

If that doesnt work, try to make the image in illy or something
