Is there a reason why I get placeholder icons instead of images in IE when I try to put small images onto a page?

 

Firefox displays them fine...

Settings in IE?

I've had a play around with settings, I dont think so

can you show the code your using or have you got a link

I can paste code, but there's nothing wrong with it.

 

If I use a different, larger image, it displays correctly.

 

Anything below about 500px wide is replaced with a little image icon

Have you saved the images in cmyk colour mode ??

Just checked, they're all RGB

What format is the image file? jpg, gif, png?

What version of IE does the problem occur? 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9, all?

What DOCTYPE are you using for the markup?

 

It would be really helpful if you could link to the test site or at least post the code, so I can have a quick play and see if it might be something you may have overlooked.
