Hello guys , this isnt exactly the first time, I have previously used websites like geocities, to make fan pages and little crappy things like that when I was in my mid teens -

BUT this is my first propper, heavily edited website, that ive personally edited html and designed allot of aspects of it myself... so go easy on me! lol

its my personal blog, and its about internet marketing and making money online.

I havent yet posted proper articles on it, only one.

it isn't 100% finished but getting their.

would love some honest opinions. THANKS

edit:ignore the comments section on the right, It was looking fine about 5 mins ago, but i accidentally deleted something, and the bullet points came from no where and the font and colour of the comments have changed too. too tired to deal with it now though, will have to change that 2moro...

IMO:

  •
  • Logo needs sharpening up a bit, looks a bit low quality to me.
  • Too much blank space to the right of your logo, perhaps put the search box there?
  • Can't see the submit button on the search box.
  • Needs better spacing in the "welcome" box.
  • Marquees aren't appealing.
  • The dividers on your right hand column are too light in color. Can barely see them.
  • The light blue font color on the right hand column is a bit hard to read against a white background.

Bear in mind I've only looked at the home page and no code either.

eD: On the copy, it looks a bit "spammy" to me, if you get what I mean?

I agree about the logo it has a grey sort of glow/stroke in conjunction with the fact it appears not to have any sort of anti aliasing which makes it very choppy round the edges.

I like the layout, the two columns look nice, espcially one thicker than your stand left or right hand side columns you see.

The footer links are not the easiest to see, grey on grey.

I like the background, I think the marquee could do with a background or something, it looks like it has not be done yet, don't know if that is W.I.P or design.

I have to say sorry I know its just the design at the moment but I love this bit of text on your website... "So far I have made $0 online, Click "Make Money" to learn how I did it."

It just made me laugh hehe!

The site is nice, keep up the good work!

Imo the footer colours are grand. It's a common practice to pick a lighter tone from the same spectrum. I would only change the hover effect to white.

thanks a lot awesome feedback - ive tried implementing a few of the suggestions, the marquee has to stay to be honest. i know its terrible on the design front, but I need that text their as it contains a very important message for the users.

I couldnt edit the spacing on the "welcome" box because im too much of a noob to mess with the coding of it. So id rather not mess about with it.

I don't want to add a background to the marquee, but i did edit the font and the colour, to make it look (slightly) more appealing.

logo changed.

border added to search box.

that's all the changes so far. like I said before, I am sincerely grateful for the feedback, I have been to other forums, to ask for an opinion and they have literally told me "you are not a web designer, take the website down" i think some people got out of the wrong side of the bed!
