March 31, 201016 yr Firstly I apologise if this question has already been asked before but I would like to hear your thoughts, as you will have more experience than I have. I haven’t used a CMS as of yet due to not knowing which to use, either for future jobs within companies as I have seen the required skills to use joomla and recently read from a forum that many companies are switching to drupal and for a client aspect of things for ease of use as I have heard is Pixie, expression engine and many more, but I started to ask myself some questions which I would appreciate your opinions on which are; Do you find you lose respect as a web developer? As many clients would think its totally impossible to learn these things and when you hand over a CMS system and they can place their own modules and start designing it them selves, would they start to think “ oh boy why did I need him for? ” or do you gain more respect for giving your client the use of controlling their site on their own? Do you find you lose work as your client can pick from thousands of plugins that do the work for them? If so do you lose even more potential clients as they can just tell their friend “ oh download this and I’ll show you” thinking to it? I do apologise if these are silly questions and as I say I’m not too sure how easy these CMS software’s are to just add things without knowing web designing skills but from what I gather it’s meant to be built for ease of use and plug in and play type aspect no? Thank you and hear from you all soon hopefully
