January 9, 200818 yr I own a domain name and some hosting however my hosting is about to run out and I have found some hosting service that is relevant to what I want. I bought both the domain name and the hosting at once and at the same site but the domain name still has a fair amount of time left. So, how do I transfer the name over to the hosting I want? Thankies! -Snow
January 9, 200818 yr You need to change the appropriate nameservers from your existing host to your new host - usually by the domain name control panel. They will look like ns1.something.com , Ns2.something.com - this then basically points the web address to your host space. wherever it might be. You can also use web forwarding but the above method will give you other useful options later that your host usually provides.
January 10, 200818 yr Thanks! ^^-Bookmarks- Ps When you change the setting, it can take anything from a few minutes to 24 hours for the new address to work so if it doesn't happen immediately don't panic. Your new host should provide you with the nameservers to use , if they don't ask them for them
