Javascript help

Hi

I have been tasked with creating a webpage that picks up information regarding network printer ink levels etc.

Its similar to individual netowrk printers having web access, but they want all information on one page so they don't have to input each ip address individually.

I have asked on a Tech forum and they advised that web designers and programmers will probably be the best people to ask as ou guys and girls 'have a fountain of web knowledge'

Most companies program them in JavaScript, but I don't have any JavaScript experience, can anyone shed any light on this?

Thank you
