Hi mate nice start

 

I would try the darker red you use on the titles for your footer and loose the stroke round recent work, see how that looks

Also, if you're just starting web design / development, start learning html and css and see what you prefer to do, the coding or the designing. I started designing first, but now I know HTML and CSS, I've started to learn PHP and I prefer to code rather than design. It's much more interesting.

Try to use space more effectively, that huge gap on your house banner graphic I'm not too keen on.
