best os/free alternative to dreamweaver

Featured Replies

What I'm looking for isn't a GUI to help me drag/drop everything into order like a glorified myspace page - it's mainly the file/folder manager. Notepad++ is fine for most coding but my joomla site is currently running over 5,200 files, which I'm sure is small by some standards. Are there any OS programs which keep track of where you've been working and a tree map of files? Thanks.

Aptana is your best bet. Stock, it will only allow you to edit HTML, CSS and JS, but you can install the PHP Plugin and it turns into a great IDE.

I use it on my Windows 7 machine, but for Mac OS I run with Coda

+1 me if you like Aptana! :)
