Hi guys,

 

Thought I would share my first attempt at building a site. Took me around 10 days and got

 

through a couple of keyboards he he.

 

I know design wise it's very basic, but i wanted to get a feel for how it all bolts together before

 

the ascetic side comes into play.

 

Still some content to add and general fiddling, and most of it i winged, so I'd welcome

 

any comments. Especially on the code side.

Pretty good for a first site, I just don't like the stretched images.

I'd have something to indicate the video is loading, how much is left on the playhead etc. You've done alright with the code, not gone with table layout and it passes validation. Good job. Now to make it pretty!

I was wondering about the way i've done the rollovers. Is that a good way to do them? I mean they work fine and validate but wondered if that's the norm?

 

Also, a bit off topic, but i used AP Divs for the layout. I know Div's are better than tables, but whats considered the best way to lay out a site? Iv'e read about floats and clears, is that the method used by most now days? And are there any good tuts around on them?

 

As I'am starting out, i just want to do things right from the off and not relearn stuff 6 months down the line.
