I am thoroughly annoyed today.

First, had somebody sl@gging off a site I created on a forum, saying that its full of spelling mistakes etc (several people have checked - no mistakes) 10 mins later, he started a new topic offering his web design services (hes a cleaner)

Then a window cleaner (same forum) posted a topic about his new supplies venture, and surprise surprise he is offering web design services as well.

Spoke with both of them, and they are both using dreamweaver and templates, because they both reckon designing is easy and its a good way to make some extra cash.

And having checked both their sites and some of their examples, one is obviously using dreamweavers design view (proper shoddy code) and the other is using frames.

Grrr, why can't they just stick to their own industry and leave the designing to the designers.

Darren,

This is why the web design industry has got a bad name and why business owners think that all designers are cowboys.

The problem is that it takes a few months after the initial wow factor has worn off that the business owner finds out that the website they had paid for does not help their business. At this time there is no chance that the client will spend any more money and starts to mistrust all web designers.

Good luck with the websites and rise above the window cleansers.

Regards

Because people think that designing is easy so they want to make money. I blame dreamweaver.
