October 3, 200916 yr Hi Guys, hypothetically, if i was to start a web design company, would you suggest i go for. A reseller shared hosting account or a dedicated? and why
October 3, 200916 yr Do you have the skills to look after and maintene a dedicated server? Can you seriously warrant the cost?
October 4, 200916 yr You could start with a reseller hosting or even have a good dedicated server. We just charge 30 USD / Month for server support if you are taking a dedicated server from us. Prices starts from as low as 39 USD .. Please visit http://mydediserver.com or contact sales@mydediserver.com for more details .. October 4, 200916 yr Unless you're a competent and confident systems administrator, I would tend to say that it's best to stick to doing the web design work and letting a hosting company manage the server for you. This would mean going for a reseller account or going for a managed dedicated server. You'll probably be able to use your time more productively than setting up Apache, configuring cPanel, securing your server etc.
October 4, 200916 yr You should only need a dedicated server if you either A. want one or B. have an actual need for one. Depending on the situation either can be a good choice. If you want ultimate control, faster speeds etc then go for a dedicated server - you need not manage about the day-to-day management of the server because you can just purchase a managed package from the provider (presuming they offer it). However that will set you back around £150 - £300 a month at a decent provider with a solid network. if you only plan to host a few sites you can start with a reseller account and there is nothing to stop you from upgrading to a dedicated server later on. Hope that helped
