September 28, 200917 yr I have a client that wants to put a JavaScript effect onto the home page like the main java navigation on the home page of BarackObama.com It's about 640 by 350 and sits below the header and main horizontal navigation. Sorry I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this sort of thing but I should be able to do it with the help of a good tut. Doesn't have to be exactly the same - He's just got three different images and messages that would link through to different pages on the site, when you click on the button you get the respective image and message and further clicking on a button on the image would take you through to the page. But also, the site is for Africa and the client says that in Africa people are more likely to have downloaded Flash than to have JavaScript enabled. I would prefer to do this with JavaScript. Am I right in saying to do a similar thing in Flash you would also need JavaScript enabled to view it? Here it is. Thanks!
September 28, 200917 yr Author Yes, I'm pretty sure it's jQuery. This is the closest I've come so far: http://jqueryfordesigners.com/demo/coda-slider.html Thanks, Vivoo
September 28, 200917 yr Knew I'd seen it recently! This chap is using the animation effect I thoink you are after in his site which he has posted in the feedback and reviews section have a look!(looks like its mootools plugin) http://www.webdesignerforum.co.uk/topic/26838-hello-my-new-website/
September 28, 200917 yr Author Yes, tobo, that moving triangle is familiar. The BarackObama.com one slides in or fades in a whole panel with images, text and links when clicked.
September 28, 200917 yr had a go trying to find where the plugin is from "roxslidemenu"?? but didn't really look too deeply so i'm sure youll find it or just copy and modify for yourself.
September 29, 200917 yr Author Hi tobo, thanks for looking - I'll look into it and see if I can use the code. I've never really done any jQuery like this before so I'm ... looking forward to the challenge!
