Hi everyone,

EDIT: Now live:- Allen Fencing South Wales

I did a site a few months ago for a family member: SITE

Please take a quick look and then tell me what you think of the new one ive so far designed in phososhop.

(The green is where a slideshow is going to go!)

Do you think its looks too 'cartoony' for a business??

Thanks guys.

You lot have been great to me the last couple of weeks! ;) cheers

Hi Huw,

Pretty good effort this one but a few changes I would suggest are:

1) colors look a little washed out -make them bolder

2) header box needs to be taller to give the logo some space. Around half the logo height extra should do

3) top quote box looks a bit chunky

4) you've doubled up on the quote box and phone number

5) have the slide show above the text

6) would the tel no have a reflection in the real world?

7) move HOME nav to the left - not centred

Gezz scifunk! Thanks for the tips. I will take on board what you have suggested. I quite like the reflective text tho :p

Anymore reviews? Please?!

I would agree with James about the reflective text, not sure if it sits right, text reflected onto grass?? If you view it literally!

Nice attempt on your first time out though, with a little more polish it could look like a much more contemporary site.

Thanks guys, working on your points now. Yeah - Reflective text on grass - Good point!!

Hoping to code this up by end of weekend and get live.

Well here's a fast review:

1.colors don't match-read about color theory

2.menu too big

3.the right corner box is too big

4.the gradient background is definitely a NO NO

5.logo and site name fade into the background because of the colors used

Gotta echo neilp here mate, you've come along really well the past few months. I remember your first site you posted here, and the standard of this is way above where I'd expect you to be at this point. Nice work.

Wow thanks Tom! I really appreciate that comment!

Since ive been working ive had at least 4 hours a day to practice.

Im in the middle of coding it up so should *fingers-crossed* have it live by the weekend.

Thanks again.

Looking really good mate. The jQuery slider works really well too. I'd remove the link outline on your nav links though, looks funny when you click because of the text-indent image replacement.

It looks good. Nice and clean. I like the loading image (waving tree) on the lightbox. =)
