Featured Replies

if your website is for a local business thats only looking to attract local customers, should u go with co.uk or does it even matter?

thanks

If in uk then yes use .co.uk or uk.com something that says the business is in the UK

was thinking that but just wanted to double check it

cheers :)

Hope you don't mind me chipping in but if I were you I'd buy the .co.uk and use that as your 'main' web address (the domain you will actually have hosted), but also buy the '.com' version.

The reason I say this is because even nowadays most people will type '.com' on the end of a website address and for the sake of $9.25 (Dynadot) you can easily buy the .com version and 'forward' it's hits to your true url of .co.uk.

This also stops losers from buying the .com version in the slight chance that you might panic and buy it from them at an extortionate price or, even worse, your competitor buying the .com version and grabbing some business meant for you!

I agree with what you are saying here, it is best to have both to minimise any danger of something/someone/somehow it goes wrong :)

If i were you then i will go with co.uk because search engines gives preferences to regional TLD for local business searches.
