php upload script issue

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I got this simple php upload script which works fine.

<form enctype="multipart/form-data" action="uploader.php" method="POST">
   <input type="hidden" name="MAX_FILE_SIZE" value="512000" />
   Send this file: <input name="userfile" type="file" />
   <input type="submit" value="Send File" />
</form>

<?php

$uploaddir = '/var/www/uploads/';
$uploadfile = $uploaddir . basename($_FILES['userfile']['name']);

echo "<p>";

if (move_uploaded_file($_FILES['userfile']['tmp_name'], $uploadfile)) {
 echo "File is valid, and was successfully uploaded.\n";
} else {
  echo "Upload failed";
}

echo "</p>";
echo '<pre>';
echo 'Here is some more debugging info:';
print_r($_FILES);
print "</pre>";

?>

i want the upload directory to by passed by URL var and set $uploaddir, i can pass it but when i change the $uploaddir it says upload failed.

any ideas?

Thanks
