July 22, 200917 yr How can a design agency from Sheffield get good ranking with keywords like "website design burford" The URL is http://www.evoluted.net/towns/140/burford/web-design/ I have tried reproducing this feature with no success. It seems that using .net to dynamically insert names via a querystring won't cut it. Evoluted use a series of numbered directories (one per town I suspect)in the url to separate the pages and submit as different webpages via a XML sitemap. Does this fool Google into thinking Evoluted is a burford website designer. Looks like it does. Can anyone shine a light on this?

I target PC Support, IT Support, Computer repair etc but when users tag onto the end of the search phrase, surrey, caterham, croydon etc I appear in the listings. We just added a little hover-over link on the home page which displays the towns in our area that we cover. Seems to do the job.
July 22, 200917 yr the answer to this is quite obvios.. The webmaster of the site has targeted his keywords, meta information and title link, alt tags and on page optimisation for the town "burford" it is mentioned about 5 time on that page alone and also 9 times within his very messy coding. I would also assume that the links he has coming into his site also mention the town burford... It's quite simple when you think about it...
July 22, 200917 yr Author I think you are missing the point. Evoluted seems to have done the same for over 900 towns in the UK. As an exercise this would not be viable for most of us if it were a manual operation. I suspect it is not a manual operation and thus my question is...How is it done. This is important as Evoluted get good rankings in Towns you might be working in. For example for the keyword "lancaster website design" showed these results iwebsolutions from Stafford are 9th in the rankings TotallyAce from Wiltshire are 10th in the rankings Evoluted from Shefield are 119 in the rankings Couldn't see your site. I really suspect this is an automated process.
July 22, 200917 yr like i said, backlink, and decent SEO work.. just because the content on his site doesnt reflect the 900town doesnt mean they dont have tons of "satalite" sites withink links to them talking about them towns..
November 3, 200916 yr I think this is how its done, using geo location for targeting landing pages Thanks
