New Photography Website, C&C.

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I set up a sort of Photography portfolio for myself, mainly to test my SEO knowledge, but the site needed a theme, and therefore a design..

The gallery is pretty bare at the moment, and eventually I will polish off a flash version and put it up, but for now I have just uploaded a few of my favourite images..

Im open to comment's and critiques, I am in no way delusional about how much I know about website design and SEO..

So any feedback will be greatly appreciated (providing it's fair, and justified :) )

Thanks in advance,

Lewis.

It looks more like a web designers site to be honest buddy and nothing like what I'd imagine a photographs site to be like.

photoasssex :D here's intelligent SEO for ya heheh

I would seriously consider fixing your width at around 900px. I had to scroll across to see the whole page. 900px will cover most resolutions.

I'll be brief, as I just typed a long reply and lost it, so sorry if this comes across a little harsh:

1) header pics got me annoyed as I wanted to scroll up to see them in full

2) "hire me" lose it - its the most eye catching thing on the page - it should be your pics

3) right column too wide

4) use pics that relate to the work you want ie portraits for families and weddings - not a great deal of business for night shots of London. I'd lose the silhouette pic - it just looks like a badly taken pic.

5) not too keen on the wood - something else to detract from looking at the pictures.
