June 25, 200917 yr I want to add a click sound whenever someone presses a button, and I think that jQuery is a good option. Here's what I have. $("body").append("<embed class='click' src='sounds/click.mp3' autostart='true' loop='false' hidden='true'></embed>"); setTimeout('$(".sound").remove()', 1000); However, this requires a lot of time to load on the first click. After that, it's cached so it's quicker, but that first click takes forever. Any other way of doing it?
June 25, 200917 yr Just pre-cache it? Try putting this in your webpage somewhere <embed class='click' src='sounds/click.mp3' autostart='false' loop='false' hidden='true' autohref="true"></embed> Then when the webpage loads, it won't play but autohref="true" causes it to download and cache. Not tried it, just an educated guess P.S embed isn't a standard tag btw. It won't validate, and may cause issues in some browsers
