Hi! I want to know please where can be stocked huge amounts of data like the videos that are uploaded on sites like Youtube or Metacafe? They use a super webhosting account with unlimited space on server, they have their own servers or just use another method?

They more than likely have multiple servers. Images aint too bad but when it comes to the vids, theres also bandwidth to consider.

There are webhosting accounts with unlimited bandwidth also. So maybe using an account with unlimited bandwidth and space on server should be enough! :good:

Technically speaking (not to be picky) but theres no such thing as unlimited bandwidth.... only unmetered.

As i like to think, if something can be added into an equation, it can always be reversed and made to equal null.

So... what's the difference? :unknw:

Difference being they don't necessarily have scripts in place to monitor or cap it (HA) as they don't believe you will use that much. But never the less, potentially, hypotheticaly blar-de-bla its not unlimited.

These hosts, with unlimited, generally are ok for smaller sites, but with larger sites, their servers are so bogged down (have you seen how many sites they stick on a server, it's just unrealistic)

Best thing to do would be to use a service like amazon s3 to store the content, especially if it's video. And then you can get a decent host for the site, and the bulk of the data is distributed on a pay as you go kind of basis.
