June 5, 200917 yr About a month ago I needed testers for a uni project (a social networking site), and I asked on another forum if anyone knew of a decent site where I could request such testers. I ended up being referred to this forum simply by chance (it came up on Google). So when I registered here, my aim was just to still see if I could find people to test my project and that was it. Whilst I was waiting for replies to my request topic, I had a look around here and liked what I saw. In my introduction thread, there were so many replies within a day, which was really surprising - I was a moderator on a board for 2 years with over 500k members (only about 1000 online at any one time though), and rarely did I see an intro topic get so many replies. It's been exactly one month now since I registered, and I didn't even realise it. I've managed to learn so much from the members here, made a few contacts and developed my own skills in such a short period of time. The main reason for even sticking around was just by noticing how friendly the members are, and how eager they are to assist with any problem. There's people with all kinds of knowledge here that can help with almost anything web related. Basically, what I'm trying to say is: I only came for my own little request, but instead ended up posting regularly and spending a lot of time here just because the whole community spirit is so great, the people are so helpful, it's actually enjoyable to spend time here and it's a fantastic place to learn new things. Thanks to everyone for making this forum so awesome!
June 5, 200917 yr i was referred here as i was looking to help people with website problems (i do this on another forum), i have a few hours a dayt to spare so i help out on a couple of forums to help members problems (although i have gained work from these forums too) its always so friendly and people willing to help others without judgement (one forum i help on, if someone asks for help on their site, the users will scour the website of the topic starter and find any illegal stuff (for the hosting) on their account and report them) where as here, you can ask help for anything, i have also learnt a few things from here, by searching older posts and by helping members (as i sometimes need to google and i learn along as well as the topic stater)
June 6, 200917 yr Ill agree, this is the best forum ive ever been on, so helpful and nice I would also like to say Brightsides post count (379 in a month - enough to rival dizi) shows just how much help he is giving. So i would like to thank him, on behalf of the forum.
June 6, 200917 yr (379 in a month - enough to rival dizi) Cheeky... on average I post 210 posts a month.... or so says the stats I agree this is a nice forum full of community spirit

The diversity of skills and talents is what makes this forum. I've learned things I didn't even realise I had to know and as a result my skills have broadened considerably. Posting also helps systematise my knowledge by forcing me to articulate thoughts that usually remain confined in my mind (and arguably they should stay there!). Thanks to you all.
