May 28, 200917 yr On a site I've created I'd like to give users the ability to upload their CV/Resume so that it will be emailed to a set address (I already have a PHP Contact Form on the site, but I'd prefer the 2 to be seperate). Ideally I'd like it so that there was a small message box on every page that, when clicked on would expand to reveal a button to submit your CV/Resume (if that makes sense!).
May 28, 200917 yr depends what you want to do with the uploaded cv..... you could load it into an array then print the array and send as an email / or just input it into a database... you will need an upload form written in a coding language such as php or asp, then work out what you want to do with the data gathered by the upload

I'd like to give visitors to the site the ability to send me their CV (in .doc format preferably, or PDF maybe) by uploading it (much like the option to upload attachments when composing a message here, only I want it to appear on every page and in the form of an icon that when clicked on will expand).
June 3, 200917 yr Hi Demonolith, How much PHP do you know? I don't know of a specific script that would do this, but you basically want the user to upload a file to your server, which is then emailed to you as an attachment. As far as I know you can't email it straight from the upload as it needs to be stored somewhere. So you could use this tutorial to make a file upload form, then use this to email the uploaded file. Hope that helps.

I'm at work at the moment, but once I get the change I'll give your suggestion a try! Niall
June 3, 200917 yr Those tutorials might be a bit advanced then. A quick google should bring up some simpler ones, those were the first results I looked at. Good luck
June 8, 200917 yr Author Those tutorials might be a bit advanced then. A quick google should bring up some simpler ones, those were the first results I looked at. Good luck I've been trying to follow those tutorials, but the second one is (as you say) a bit too advanced for me to get my head around! Does that code go in along with the PHP I created in the first tutorial? I tried looking for a simpler tutorial online but they are again too advanced for ickle old me and my grey matter! In order to receive the CV does they file need to be uploaded or is that necessary? I'll get it yet...
