I currently have a programmer helping me build a website for a new business.

Part of the site is to list about 700 products; each product coming under a particular group heading.

For example; a Hi-Fi and Television coming under the group heading "Electronics" & a Multi-Gym and Bike coming under the group heading "Leisure". I suppose something very similar to an index in the back of a large catalogue.

To make it easy for the user and not to list all 700 products at once i would like to be able to +/- the group headings to then show or hide the relevant product list. Very similar to how you can +/- folders in the start menu.

My programmer has said this is not something he has seen before and does not think he will be able to do this however if there is a website that illustrates this to let him know.

Has anybody got any advice on this or knows of a website that would demonstrate this to him.

The product list itself in interactive; in other words there is a tick box to include a product in your and it also gives a description and price.

Any help would be mush appreciated.

Alex

You could use css to do something similar to this, but the secondary menu would just appear when you hovered over it rather than when you click on it. You could use AJAX to do it as you click on it.

That site has a huge amount of info about lists, could be what you are after.
