I want to send html based emails rather than just plain boring text based ones, to my clients, I'm getting the design of a friend whose going to use photoshop, how would I use this in the emails?

 

Bearing in mind, that you might have to go into a bit of detail in your response

There is a program called Wufoo witch does this for you. Its free up to 3 forms. If you have a look at http://stwebdesign.co.uk/Contact.html that form is running of Wufoo. www.wufoo.com/

Its more than an on-line form with details that the user has to fill it and click submit

 

Its HTML (from an image developed in Photoshop) sent from an email out to a client, if you get me?

PS I realise what i used was mac version... but i'm sure there is a pc version if that is what u use...

Hi Emma,

 

HTML emails are every designers nightmare. As CSS isn't widely supported across the many different mail clients, you'll need to go back to using tables and basic inline styles. Background images aren't supported, so you'll need to use flat colours behind blocks of text.

p.s just out of interest, how much could I charge a paying client to set this up for them? Roughly

We use Campaign Monitor.

 

They have an excellent resource section, particularly their css support guide.

 

You pay per campaign you send, it's usually not very much all up.

I'd charge between £50 and £80 per email, but it depends how graphic heavy it is and how long you expect to spend on it.

Also the email standards project is good for up to date info. Was looking for that link earlier but only just found it.
