May 6, 200917 yr Hi, i've been given a website to do for my boss' friend at work. I've had a little play around and come up with this as the solution. I'm not overly confident with web design, but have done a couple of small websites before. Which all seem to work. Basically this website works fine in my 3 browsers on my mac, it works fine on my friends google chrome on pc and another friends IE on pc. The problem however arises when the person who wants the website views it. She has a PC and IE and for some reason there are alignment issues. www.glebefarmcottage.com The text in the footer moves up. The map on the home page moves down. Most noticeably the main text on the right of the page moves down, often over the thumbnail pictures below. In design mode on my mac it isn't alligned, however when previewed it is fine. I have had a look around the coding and I can't seem to pick out why this is happening. Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance!
May 7, 200917 yr Hm its not looking too hot in opera either Looking at your code now.... I can see from your html and css you have floated most of your elements .... I would advise firstly having a container / wrapper around everything to keep it in cos bits seem to be popping out everywhere. I have to go out for a few hours now but will have a proper look later when i get home. In the meantime have a look here; http://css.maxdesign.com.au/floatutorial/ http://webdesign.about.com/od/advancedcss/a/aa010107.htm and from one of WDF's good guys; http://www.garethdaine.net/web-design/css/css-float-guide/
May 7, 200917 yr Author Hm its not looking too hot in opera either Looking at your code now.... Like I say i'm not overly confident with webdesign. The coding is probably disgusting and not all how your meant to do it. It was just what I could do in the small time limit he gave me for it to be done. This was whilst doing all my regular work duties. Thanks for the help.

May 7, 200917 yr Author I think I may have fixed it. Again it works fine on my mac on all browsers. It works on IE on parallels on my mac, and again works fine on other computers in IE and Chrome. If anyone could have a quick look and see if they experience any problems that would be brilliant. Thanks alot for the help guys! x
