I'm not entirely sure if this is the right category but here goes.

 

I have recently uploaded a new website (2-3 wks). When I search for it, it comes up with a directory listing saying Index of/ instead of the proper website address. I can't work out why it's doing it and I'm concerned it'll be impacting on the search engine rankings.

 

Can anyone shed any light on what's happening? The web address is www.pageoneofgoogle.co.uk

 

Any help would be appreciated.

1. Google's cache of your website shows that it's last update was 20/04/09 and shows an empty directory listing.

2. Your website uses iFrames for no good reason.

Personally I would look at using a different CMS.

 

Also I would be VERY careful about using a major brands' trademarked name in a domain name. They will probably look to recover it or have it struck off the register.

Based on this - I would say that your directory problem and Google not updating their cache may be to do with you using their brand which might be seen to be a major breach of their copyright.

 

I wouldn't risk it.
