April 5, 200917 yr I can't work twitter out! WTF?! Am I dumb or what?! Mr. Notbanksy is at work and I'm sat here without his advice, feeling very stoooooopid! I only opened an account on twitter because my aunt suggested it would be a good way to get supporters for my horse rescue. But at this rate, it aint gonna happen! HELP!

April 5, 200917 yr The key to twitter is getting followers, and that in itself is fairly tricky. Here are some tips: 1) Start by following other people that interest you - that way, when they see they have a new follower, they'll check your profile to see if you're worth following back. 2) Make sure that you have an interesting bio on your twitter page - preferably with a link to a homepage or blog about you and your interests 3) Make sure you have a nice custom background, plus a custom avatar. Most twitter folk won't follow people with the defaults because it means they don't "get it". 4) Post things that are actually worth reading. Twitter is not like Facebook status update. People who post "just fed the cat", "just got to work" possess what is known as high "signal to noise", and usually get unfollowed really fast. The main thing people get out of twitter is links to useful information about a subject they're interested in. So, think about twitter as a blog about articles you've seen on the internet that interest you, and might interest your followers. Kind of like a mini newspaper, or a MICROBLOG.... 5) check out one of the many directory sites to see who has a common interest with you, and follow them. hope that helps
