Inserting a google map into a non google website

Featured Replies

Hi

I am wanting to insert a Google map into my website. I have done some searches and found the advice that states how to create the map in MY MAPS in Google, adding markers etc. It then discusses KML URL links and copying it here there and everywhere and so loses me completely. It also seems to be advice for a Google website and not one I am creating using PSPad. This is just an editor really and doesn't have any widget/gadget abilities that I am aware of.

It doesn't have to be a Google map, any other will do as long as I can zoom in to show the local area and then one specific place.

Could anyone please give me some advice without using any jargon? Many thanks.

Hi, if you go to google maps, type in the address, search, it should give you a map showing the address, you can then click on a link button and copy and paste the code given between these 2 tags in your html doc <body> </body>

I hope that helps

Click on "link", then "Customise and preview embedded map"

Thank you. That has worked but it doesn't allow you to put the markers on but if I can't do it that's ok. I typed in the postcode and when I view it for customising it looks good, but when I link into my site the map won't show the view I wanted but zooms out. There is then a very small link at the bottom to say 'view larger map' and then it comes up correctly. Surely it should show what I was looking at in the preview?

Thanks
