Hi everyone. I'm about to make a new website and have a question which has been bugging me for a while!

If I have a left hand Div which contains a graphic - what length should I make that graphic? What's the best size to ensure it looks ok on different screen resolutions?

I hope that makes sense, I'm not sure whether to make it 600 in length or should it be larger?

Thanks for reading.

it is up to you, ik normally go for around 900px and the majority of uses at the mo are on 1024x768. see below.

Resolution % of Internet Users

Higher than 1024×768 38%

1024×768 48%

800×600 8%

Lower than 800×600 < 1%

Unknown 6%

Daniel nice bit of info; where did u get that from?

Hi Peeps,

you can get the info here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_resolution

god bless wikipedia, although it does say:

Note: These statistics were gathered from visitors to a website dedicated to web technologies, so there may be an over-representation of both higher resolution monitors and lower resolution handheld devices

but i think it is as good as we are gonna get.

Dan
