March 24, 200917 yr Hi all! I'm looking for a software that checks if urls are still working. I know there is a lot of software that scans your website and looks for broken links and that's NOT what i'm looking for. I have a list with over the 1000 websites that has to be checked if the website is still working. I spent some time google'ing it but i couldn't find it. Anyone?
March 24, 200917 yr This might be not be a huge help, but there is a piece of Mac software called Rage Domainer that does what you are looking for I think. http://www.ragesw.com/products/domainer.html . You are likely not on a Mac, but maybe you can use the product page for keywords to do a search for PC software that does the same thing.
March 24, 200917 yr What a coincedence! Another forum where i am an active member was discussing the same thing this morning! http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/domain-tools...ve-checker.html Someone has knocked up a tool to check if a site/domain still resolves.
March 24, 200917 yr Author Awesome! I'll check it! Thanks! Really saved me some time and some annoying work
March 30, 200917 yr That tool looks great if you can run it on a local server running PHP - however, I have a client who wants to check if 8 websites are responding properly, and he wants to run it as a scheduled task in Windows (or have it scheduled by subscribing to some kind of online service). I know there's a website somewhere which will check some URLs for you every hour or two, and email you if they're down. But I can't find my bookmark! Has anyone spotted a site running this kind of service? Ideally for free... Thanks.
March 30, 200917 yr It's OK, it turns out I was googling the wrong keywords. Instead of "website testing" I later googled "website monitoring" and lo and behold, pages and pages of the stuff
