my portfolio

Hey theere people!

Someone told me that i "need" a portfolio in the modern webbing business (not like spiderman)...

So heres my attempt.

The content is a slidy boxy thing (like Hotel Oxford), going horizontally. There are 3 pages. The menu items animated upwards by 10px in a nice way when hovered. They change colour wehn clicked.

I am busy finalising the content and so on, so expect to see a live version before the weekend.

I believe in the other people will always say it best method so....

its a little bland tbh. its not ugly, it just doesnt have any wow factor.

It might have that 'wow' when it scrolls across, but as a static it just doesn't work. The light blue of your logo and links seems out of place compared to the hard solid colour that your content is in (but that is more than likley my taste).

I'll hold off a full crit till I see it fully working...look forward to seeing it up and running

ouch.. pwned :(

lol, i will try with some other colours, see how it goes... maybe a white to grey grad might work.

If you incorporate some of the dark blue into your links or logo it would help it not look so out of place. Personally the reason why I think it looks so misplaced is because its light on top and then just a very dark box underneath so it makes the logo look out of place. I like that you are using the light blue as your text colour, but it just needs something in the logo or menu area just to make the top part stand out a little, then it will have that wow factor that it needs :D

So not a lot needs done, just a little to taking it from a good layout, to an excellent layout :D

well i have made one or two changes since that shot, the main one being a light gradient at the top of the page.

how about a splash or calligraphy sweeps type thing behind the logo?

yeah i agree there not much there but we cant really give you a good review because it sounded like the majority is javascript or flash, it sounds like it makes it better with the javascript or flash.
