Help me pick a home page

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, my sites fully active however a little slow at the moment.

Basically I am having trouble choosing between these two options for my home page:

The faster loading neat but more basic screen:

FAST & TIDY (OPTION 1)

The Slower loading currently selected home page (looks a little better)

CURRENT HOME (OPTION2)

I just can't seem to decide out of these two what would be more beneficial to the site and its users

Your "fast and tidy" page weighs in at 411Kb with all the scripts and images.

Your "current" page weighs in at 467Kb.

Both were slow for me. I'd try and optimise a bit. Minimise your JS, use the ICEY compressor on your CSS, merge multiple script files into 1, do the same with your CSS, and lose the animated GIF logo (or at least optimise it - it's 76Kb!).

I agree with Andy on this one.

ICEY Compressor

Just in case you decide to give it a try :)

To be honest, I don't like either page, sorry.

Thanks Andy.

Good advice, I have tided up option 2 a little- main improvements still to come.

I want to keep the rollover images for the style factor yet they seem to be a little to slow. anyways will work on it.

Peace!
