March 5, 200917 yr hello people hows things ? here is new logo i designed for a company its slightly web 2 thankyou for your honest feedback its here now updated the right one sorry wasnt working before
March 6, 200917 yr Yep I can see it now, It's not to my taste. When designing a logo, consider all the possible ways your logo might be used, such as on printed paper, adverts, scanned documents (how does it look in black and white?). A logo should stand out, visually grab your attention, be the focus on a webpage, on a print, on anything! Just some thoughts to throw in the bag I would say to deviate from the "shadow" effect you're trying to use, go for something that fits well with the badge you have designed, try to make it all one object, if you know what I mean. Hope this helps
March 6, 200917 yr Author the fonts very web 2 danube i know what you mean but its a logo so its more to do with being memorable than readable cheers for advice though im just starting out so its my first logo attempt
March 6, 200917 yr It looks just like a web 2.0 graphic rather than a logo. Also is the text and the graphic meant to be one thing? If so, they don't sit well with each other - it looks like two different logos. If you're set on keeping the graphic in the top left, I would drop the shadow underneath and also drop the reflection under the text. That may look ok if done right as a web banner/header or something but as a logo it looks unneccasery.
March 7, 200917 yr logo looks very nice but the first time i looked at the name i really ddint get what it said? but eventually was able to read it propery. Maybe you might take it easy on the reflection effect because i think its a bit too bright for my liking! good logo tho!
March 7, 200917 yr The second one is physically impossible, how can you have a reflection start above your baseline? I hate the font, although i like the p so i'm gonna ask what font it is? Personally, i've only started doing this lately, and you'd be suprised the difference it actually makes, but draw a mind map/mood board about the company image, What they're about, there objectives, the image they want to give out everything and anything, no matter how insignificant. Then doodle next to your text, or stick in images for inspiration, then sketch out about 40 ideas (you can do this infront of a good film, i recommend noir, gets your mind going in strange ways, but w.e you want ) That'll give you a good basis to go on, some of your sketches will suck, some will be good (they don't have to look good, but they'll give you an idea of what you want). That's just what i do, and i've only just started doing it, but i honestly think my logo work has improved from what it was. Pre-planning can make massive differences, but it might depend on the kind of person you are or w.e. I tend to be a bit creatively challenged at times.
March 8, 200917 yr Yes, agree with Bocaj - you can't put a "web 2.0-eriffic" (you can tell I'm getting bored with them) shadow if you're using a lower case font with descenders. It stops looking like a shadow, because your brain can tell it couldn't happen in real life. It just looks like a mess. And shadows are so 2007...
March 9, 200917 yr I think there is no hierarchy in the logo and the text. And don't use to much shadow. Hope i helped
