March 2, 200917 yr Hey I just want your opinion on the site. Look though it and maybe even join right now it doesnt have any projects yet but soon the ad campaign will start and we will be getting projects posted. We are working on a few new features that will go live after we start getting steady projects. Hope you like it UPDATE: Thank you all for the advice. I will look into the things that you have mentioned so that the site will work better for everyone
March 2, 200917 yr (Gets so much easier if you just post a link as well, instead of lots of people having to type the URL, only you will). 1: TITLE! I don't know what kind of percentage that gets to hear this from me, but the title has to say something! 2: Logo looks somewhat unprofessional/not for the target group 3: Unclear on what the whole site was about in the beginning (Title of great book: "Don't make me think") 4: When I've clicked the "Professionals Directory" and go back to the main page, "Home" and "PD" look the same! This is userconfusing, seeing as he/she doesn't know where he/she is. 5: Help: Keep it simple. Step by step (three steps should be ideal?) with headers: Want a website? 1: You post your request 2: lorem ipsum 3: dolor sit amet! OR: Webdesigner? 1: You post your profile 2: Lorem ipsum 3: Dolor sit amet! If not here, then somewhere very visible (like.. the main page?) 6: Don't need so much space under the terms of service etc. Creates useless scrollbar on 1024*768 7: Contact us: Continue? For the love of Bob! That sounds as though I'll be entered into a long interrogation! Nah, can't be bothered contacting you, I'll go somewhere else. 8: Be practical if "My account" took me to a registration form on the left, and a login form on the right. (Perhaps you could merge the two, but I actually prefer having them apart) 9: Are you sure about listing countries that have no professionals yet? Could lead to some trial and error.. rethink this point 10: THE THUMBNAILSCREENSHOTS ARE TO BE CLICKABLE! 11: Nope; shouldn't have to select between Client and Professional at login. For one: it doesn't make any sense; you see that the user is a client, so you send him to a clientpersonalpagethingy, same with pro. Secondly: What if one person is both? Few things are more annoying than having to have two accounts on one website. 12: What are free bids?
March 3, 200917 yr It didn't tell me properly what its purpose is. And the home page has so many different things shouting at me (what are the screenshots for at the bottom, for example?) that I just closed the tab. Sorry. Here's an example of a good home page (not one of mine!) where some kind of collaborative online service is being offered: http://www.basecamphq.com/. Clear, simple, says what it does. Above the fold there's just one big green button, so no problem about where to click.
March 3, 200917 yr I like the site, but you must optimize it a bit more!+ the top of the page can be more stylish!
