How can i do this?

Featured Replies

i want to know how this site gets the divs (http://www.coderiser.com/index.php), right to the end of the page, they obviously change with diffrent screen sizes, but how do they get it so it is the same on all screens, is there an unlimited thing in css were it lets the stip go on forever so it doesnt matter if it is big or small there is unlimited amount of strip just the content inside the stip moves.?

i know i didnt explain it well, but it is hard to put the words together about what i want to acheive

thanks,

Each bar has it's own background, and a .wrapper div inside that contains the content (and possibly another background) which is centered inside the parent div.. take a look at the source in firebug (Y)

i want to know how the width is always the right size though, for every resolution, is it something in css that auto ajusts it to diffrent resolutions?

well.. it's only the right size for 1024x768 + for me..

each bar is 100% width with a flat background, inside that is another div that is a fixed width with a graphical background.

Yeh what it sounds like your trying to do is set the width to 100% or simmilar percetage, so it appears the same on all resolutions, a simple width:100%; will do fine.

okay, thanks

I think I know what you mean. You would like to know how it's possible that bg image goes forever on the right and left??

site bg image is set up for repeat x depending on image and image is 1-3 px width and proper size height...

Crop your bg image in photoshop, making long tiny line only and include it as a bg with repeat x...

I think you ment that... if i am wrong forgive me. GL
