Hi Chris,

I like the look of the layout, personally seems to be edging toward the darker colours but nothing wrong with that, it can work for many website and I really think that is a great design you have there.

Great start I would say, can't wait to see what some the others have to say.

I like it, looks proffesional, I do agree with smoothonline though it is a tad square perhaps rounding the corners on your main content area or the header would break up all the straight lines a bit.

A Very good start.

It depends really on what the aims of your project are.

The first thing I noticed when the image loaded was the bog-standard PS-brush grass in the header... it lacks some imagination, but if the aim is to produce something clean and effective then I guess you've hit the mark.

I would say you have used too many colours & gradients however... you need to make it all work together by keeping the design elements consistent. The 3 different greens each with a different gradient looks a little messy, and is perhaps causing the marked squareness others have noticed. A design which sits well together would probably not look so "square" or unnatural.

The typography is pretty good, you have clear sections and are able to draw the user's eye around the page... however perhaps look into vertical rhythm... in particular making the baselines of "the area we work in" and "latest news" line up should improve the visual effect. Also the tag line is a bit small.

I hope this helps.
