January 13, 200917 yr Does anyone get crap signal with freeview or is it just me? I get e4+1 but not e4 and i get itv2+1 but not itv2 or itv1... what kind of drugs are these antennas on?
January 13, 200917 yr ours is dodgy too. It won't put channels in the right order, and we have about 3 of each channel. we have three e4's, two of which change to a black screen after about 30 seconds. I think that's our box though, rather than signal. The box in my room had a very bad signal, kept breaking up, i'd have to nudge it to get the signal to come ok, so i rewired the coax and now it works fine. Maybe try rewiring the coax? it takes about 20 minutes first time (i.e reading from instructions, never having done it before).
January 13, 200917 yr Author at least u got e4 !! Not that there is anythign to watch on it right now then peopel in big brother sleeping :| I'm not using the areial on the roof, i baught a "supposibly brilliant" digital areal thing n plugged tht in the "aperntly really good freeview" box.. so I dont thinkthe coax thign will work? What is a coax anyway? l If digital is going to take over analog then I kidna figured the signal would be as good as analog?
January 13, 200917 yr The coax is the brown cable that links your box to the aerial, we got an aerial with signal booster, we still lose signal when a moped drives by tho ): (we live just outside the city centre, get's kinda tedious). We have a communal aerial too, but at peak times the signal is horrendous (but i miss the fact that if we plug into the communal aerial we can watch the cctv very fun at 4am when you come back from town and your watching all the drunk people fall over )

Nevermind! Just noticed it tells you on the left lol Chester! Ive bin there when I worked in North Wales! Got lost going back to the hotel and kept going round in curcals because they have all them tudor looking houses in the city center!
January 13, 200917 yr They want to turn one of those 'tudor houses' into a spearmint rhino club... ROFL. I live on the welsh border (around 40 metres from wales), so i get welsh channels too (: they're slowly getting better programs too We shouldn't really get signal problems, living in a city with no really tall buildings or mountains around (except on the welsh side, we can see snowdonia). Do you live in the woods or somethin? (is it a gingerbread house... ooh ooh... please... let it be )

I ran a Hotel in Capel Curig! nr bewts-y-coed if you know any of them? Now I'm in Nottingham though
January 13, 200917 yr I used to live in the woods! In wales! I ran a Hotel in Capel Curig! nr bewts-y-coed if you know any of them? I can't even pronounce them where are they near?
January 13, 200917 yr Author I can't even pronounce them where are they near? Between Llandudno & Bangor
January 13, 200917 yr oh right, i've been to Llandudno & Bangor a few times (got friends in Bangor, plus i used to work at the racecourse) but i wouldn't say i really know them 'nor the areas around them. So why'd you move to notts? Sick of the sheep jokes?
January 13, 200917 yr You can't expect the signal to be great everywhere, remember that we're not going digital until 2012 officially, so most areas still have two years worth of maintenance before it's official. The reason it might not be working could be a whole host of things, there are a few things that affect it quite severely, however, these are: - Being in a valley, the signal is difficult to get - The foundations of where you live, if your area is on granite (particularly coastal areas), then the radiation messes up the signal - Trees - Your area not having the write antennae and stuff yet
January 13, 200917 yr Author oh right, i've been to Llandudno & Bangor a few times (got friends in Bangor, plus i used to work at the racecourse) but i wouldn't say i really know them 'nor the areas around them. So why'd you move to notts? Sick of the sheep jokes? I'm from Nottingham mate! I've just worked about a bit... tenerife, south france, wales! Got to be a little adventurous!
January 13, 200917 yr Got to be a little adventurous! That's what the sheep say Fair do's the concept of 9-5 in the same town for the rest of my life puts me on the verge of suicide, so i get where your coming from Plus the welsh aren't actually that bad, except they speak fast. But Gavin and Stacey is a fun program (: Yeah as he said above, there can be countless reasons. My friend who lives in Rutland, he can't point his aerial in the right direction, because there's no signal so he has to point it in a different direction and receive non-regional tv (well it is regional, just not his region). He still only gets bbc and itv
January 13, 200917 yr I can never get any of the bbc channels through freeview, not that it really matters as I have sky...still I can see how it can be annoying for some people.
January 13, 200917 yr Shame, the bbc's one of the most important tv networks, but it's ok... i suppose your pay for them even if your don't watch it . +Your missing out on the one, the only, the dr. ):
January 13, 200917 yr I live in notts city centre and used to have the same issue, especially when traffic went by. I look back and laugh at it now, but I remember I used to watch a program and it was like they had a speech impediment!! Just updated the box and got everything solved!
January 13, 200917 yr Shame, the bbc's one of the most important tv networks, but it's ok... i suppose your pay for them even if your don't watch it . +Your missing out on the one, the only, the dr. ): Well if I didn't have sky, if all the bbc channels didn't work after the switch over I would tell the tv licence people that I wouldn't pay my licence until I could get the channels I am actually paying my licence for...even though I rarely watch any bbc things. As all we get at the moment is a screen with no signal written on it for all bbc ones, on freeview.
January 13, 200917 yr Author But Gavin and Stacey is a fun program (: I used to go to school with Mat or Gavin as u lot would know him, he lives well just his mum and dad now 3 doors from my mums! Crazy rli !!
January 14, 200917 yr freesat is the future i think. my freesat was working great until this morning when my dog chewed through the cable outside - the runt!
January 14, 200917 yr Well if I didn't have sky, if all the bbc channels didn't work after the switch over I would tell the tv licence people that I wouldn't pay my licence until I could get the channels I am actually paying my licence for...even though I rarely watch any bbc things. As all we get at the moment is a screen with no signal written on it for all bbc ones, on freeview. Your TV licenses pay for the training the BBC do, no other tv network in the uk trains people from scratch, only the bbc. So if we didn't pay for the bbc, the other channels wouldn't have new people to hire ): Plus bbc invest in quality programming, and experimental programming rather than chasing ratings (lately, this has slipped, but it's being addressed) unlike other channels. Although, i exclude channel 4 from the experimental programming, they're legally required to invest in experimental programming (part of there broadcast agreement).
January 14, 200917 yr Author Now for some unknown reason the freeview has every channel.... signals not great hmm but they are there!
