I am a beginer trying to teach myself web design. I have created www. safepaydayloans .co.uk using dreamweaver CS3.

 

My problem is that on some computers my website seems to hang to the left (it should be centered), or on a Mac it hangs to the right. Can anyone help me correct this problem? or help me avoid this problem in the future?

Hi FuriousStyles! Welcome to the Forum! On my computer it's hanging left. To be honest, I think the site suits hanging left rather than being central. Check over the HTML code and make sure the elements are correct so it doesn't hang central or right. It's all very so easy for WYSIWYG's to mess up and miss out crucial elements, especially when you're formatting and changing layouts. I used to experience that problem in particular many years ago when I used to use FrontPage 2000.

All I can suggest is that you check for the alignment elements, or if you're using CSS, make sure the <Div>'s are correct.

 

Can I also add, there's something about the logo that's unappealing. It's almost as if it's a clipped image or as if we can see the pixels. The font isn't even or smooth. It looks rugged.

 

With regard to viewing, different computers (By which I mean browsers) view websites differently. Incompatibility issues are rife and are often difficult to fix. Usually you have to create alternate style sheets for different browsers. Mac uses Safari, so build a different style sheet for Safari, IE, FireFox Ect. if required. But it's nothing to do with the OS on how pages are determined.

That's exactly what I thought, it's not hanging to the left at all, just check through your css to make sure you're aligning centrally using "margin:0 auto;" as opposed to positioning it any other way, that works best.
