How do you go about testing your website in all major browser versions. FF2 FF3 IE6 IE7 IE8 Chrome Opera Safari etc....Do you use a plugin, software, sperate OS, separate machine?

 

Right now I only test in IE7 + FF3 + Chrome 0.4....but want to start testing in more versions.

Thanks for the fast reply. I tried it out and it seems like a good screen-shot preview solution with a comprehensive selection of browser versions.

A quicker tool for IE screenshots is the netrenderer ad on for Firefox (IE5.5 - IE8) but if you want to test the functionality of the site in various IE versions, you'll need something like multipleIE. Unfortunately this doesn't work on Vista (as far as I know) so I installed Virtual PC and an XP virtual machine with IE6.

Testing in Linux is easy enough if you have an old pc lying around or you can dual boot with your current OS.

Unfortunately I don't have access to a Mac so just use an up to date version of Safari for Windows (not quite the same I know!)

As for the IE NetRenderer plugin for Firefox, I checked out the reviews but it seems more worth it to use BrowserShots.org - because it does screenshots for more browsers/versions...even though the wait is longer.

 

I checked out multipleIE, and got it working in less than 2 minutes. Easy Solution! I think IE6 will be the furthest back I test in though.

As you probably know, it's IE that's give us all the most hassle. So i use IETester......
