Hi all, just joined! :huh:

Very new to web design. Trying to learn as much as pos :o

I would like to find a local tutor, but, no luck on that, so now looking for online courses.

Can anyone recommend any? <_<

You’d think there would be a national register/directory/database (call it what you will) of Web Designers & Developers, one place where they all could sell themselves and their expertise. However, alas, there appears to be no such thing. For a technology industry like web site creation I’m amazed there is not such a site. :D

So people like me are left scratching around trying to find help on Forums like this one for advice on;

Best online courses to sign up for?

Best video tutorials to get?

Anyone got any ideas? B)

Look forward to talking with you all. :rolleyes:

*waves hello*

I geuss the problem with that directory idea is that it would simply be a list of people who call themselves a designer, as there's no accreditation required before you can do that.

If you're after tutorials, W3C schools is a good start. A lot of people here keep mentioning HTML Dog as well. Plus there's a tutorials section here on this forum.

Best video tutorials ever:

Hello and welcome!

HTML dog and w3schools did it for me....

Then there are loads of posts on here refering to other tutorials and sources for html, css and others stuff.

Good luck, and if in doubt ask! :)
