December 17, 200817 yr Hi I want all 20 of my new websites to look exactly the same and therefore be able to change the appearance of them all, just by altering a html and Css template. I would much prefer the website to be .html rather using php. The content for each site will differ but not where the text, images etc are positioned. I can't find template guides for one site but not for multiple, anyone know any good tutorials ? thanks
December 17, 200817 yr Author Hi Is this question a little difficult? Ok What I think I mean is to set up .html pages bascially using CSS to structure and position everything. i.e I thought there is a way to have a main page that brings in say the header.html, sidebar.html, stage.html and footer html structures into each of the pages of each site kind of like php includes but not using php ? I have thought about the database route, but frankly I am a graphic Designer turned Web Designer not a computer programmer. I can of course setup a My Sql DB but would have a clue how to connect the pages to it. I guess you would use SQL ?
December 17, 200817 yr Why do you not want to use php includes? if it's because you get a .php extension in the addressbar.. use mod_rewrite module in apache to allow .html in the addressbar but it displays the .php file
December 17, 200817 yr if all the sites are one the same server with just domain redirecting then it can be done. lets say you have 20 folders. each folder is it's own site. put the css style sheet in the main directory and each site can reference that style sheet. if you change that style sheet then all 20 websites will change.
