Popup help! Help me and help a church!

Featured Replies

no kidding mates. im in the midst of building a site for a church and I am having the dickens of a time trying to get a popup (png image) to merely popup over some text that is indented to the right inside my div. Sounds easy right? i thought so too.

the page is live at:

Visit My Website

MY POPUP IS A STROBE EFFECT....and it is sooooooo not supposed to be. lol

Im also using dreamweaver CS3. And on another note: this may be easy too...i tried to get a "on click" behavior to open a new page that is 800x600 and when I test it out on FF and IE it just opens a new tab with full screen and empty space. yuck. what am i missin here? Sorry im learnin here. Im a total noob. I just made a life decision to contribute to the net i use sooo much as a consumer and audience. Aside from the learning curve, it's real exciting so far.

Hey, Sorry, but I think your explanation sounds more confusing that what you're actually trying to achieve.

Is this he site fr the church?

http://oneightylife.com/main5.html ?

If so, it looks more like a Rock Band site than a Church site... I like the navigation though.

Dude what exactly are you trying to do? Do you want a pop up to show when some closes the page?

Or when the pages opens up? Or... ?

Ahhh, i think I get it!

You want an image to show up when the mouse is over the "Pastor Luke's MessagePastor Luke's Message Nationfire Studios" ?

By the way your page is not XHTML Valid Click here to see the 68 errors

And it's also not CSS Valid Click here to see the CSS errors

Also, this may help:

Popup on Mouseover

Hope this helps I am not too good with JS

Yup thats it...I want an image to pop up on mouse over...over the text Pastor Luke's Message. Yeah it does come off that way but if you saw how the church operates and the facilities they have...a rock band would be a good analogy. haha

Seems to me the most XHTML problems are in the menu bar. I checked out the link but the guys then goes into doing an Ajax call and Im clueless there. I swear you could hear crickets when I got to that part. I just want the mouse over effect...I dont need a delayed popup. I swear this must be something simple that Im obviously overlooking.
