Google Analytics...

Featured Replies

Hi,

Other members may have seen a few posts where I have mentioned my search engine ranking and how I have moved up and up nearly to page one and then completely disappeared.

Well, around the same time this happened my Google Analytics has, from what I can tell, stopped monitoring traffic to my website. My statistics are showing 0 for every day after a certain date, when I know people have visited the site. Members from this forum have visited the website as well.

I have all of the correct code inserted within my XHTML documents and Google Analytics indicates that I am verified and receiving data, but every traffic statistic is dead.

This seems very strange to me and more than just a coincidence with relation to my search engine ranking. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

Did you put the google counter script back onto your site, at the bottom of the page? as I can't see in on your main page, if we are talking about your liverpool design site. Plus normally in the info bar at the bottom it says loading googl analytics...or connecting to it (something like that) and your page doesn't.

As for your page drop did you rename pages? such as change a .html to a .php or completely rename pages from say web.php to web-design.php, and then delete the old pages? As this could effect your serchengine position as in creating the new pages google has to reindex these and sees them as new....or at least that is my theory from a similar situation on some sites :)

Yes, if you have changed any page names as Dizi suggests you need to put a re-direct in place. This lets search engines know the page has no disappeared.

Hi,

Thanks guys I've got the Google analytics sorted now. For some reason the code that was their had disappeared. I did.n't remove it so don't know what happened their.

I had changed pages but after the change I removed the pages from Google's index and then a couple of days later I was on page 2 at the top, so rank 11.

The index has never changed, so don't know why it no longer appears in the index. It's weird.
